Synopsis: Candidates scoring between 400–500 in NEET 2025, with ranks ranging from 95,278 to 2,15,071, may find it tough to secure MBBS seats in government colleges. However, they have good chances in private colleges for MBBS/BDS and can also explore allied courses like BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and Veterinary Sciences.

With the NEET 2025 results expected on June 14, candidates scoring between 400 to 500 marks are eagerly assessing their prospects for admission into medical colleges. Held on May 4 in a single afternoon shift, NEET 2025 is being termed as one of the toughest editions since 2016, leading to expectations of a lower cutoff this year.

Candidates with scores in the 400–500 range are likely to secure ranks between 95,278 and 2,15,071. While these marks exceed the qualifying cutoff, they may not suffice for MBBS admission in top government colleges. However, such scores hold potential for securing MBBS or BDS seats in reputed private medical institutions.

For government BDS programmes, reserved category students (SC/ST/OBC) have a fair chance through state quota counselling. Additionally, aspirants in this score bracket can explore allied medical courses such as BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), BUMS (Unani), and BVSc & AH (Veterinary Sciences), which are offered by both government and private colleges at relatively lower cutoffs.

As the result day approaches, candidates are advised to keep alternate course options in mind and stay updated with official counselling portals for detailed cutoffs and admission procedures.
