NEW DELHI | As around 23 lakh students registered for NEET UG 2025, scholarship schemes have emerged to support them financially while pursuing MBBS courses. These grants come from government programmes, NGOs, and private bodies, aimed at reducing economic barriers for bright medical aspirants.
1. Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Yojana (PM-USP):
– Central sector scholarship by the Ministry of Education
– Supports up to 82,000 students annually across professional, graduate, and postgraduate streams
– Disbursement via DBT based on Class 12 merit
2. ONGC Scholarship Scheme:
– Offers ₹48,000 per year to SC/ST, OBC, and EWS students pursuing MBBS, engineering, MBA, geology, or geophysics
– Selection based on academic merit and economic background.
3. All India Pre-Medical Scholarship Test (AIPMST):
– Rewards high NEET or related test scores:
- ≥90%: two years’ tuition
- 80–90%: one year’s tuition
- 70–80%: a laptop
- Below 70%: also eligible for a laptop
4. Vidyavridhi Medical Scholarship:
– Yashoda Foundation scheme in Hyderabad
– Ten students selected annually receive ₹10,000–₹50,000 per year for four years
